Poijana joins Swedegood
We are happy to announce that Swedish activewear company Poijana joins Swedegood.
Rinny and Malin have a passion for fitness but also for making the world a better place - and therefore they decided to create Poijana.
- Technology has made it possible for us to produce better activewear than ever before, and we are lunging at the opportunity to do just that. The keywords here are sustainability and versatility. This activewear is engineered with an eco-friendly mindset and to fit in any environment you choose to wear them in
The Love of Three Core Values:
LOVE YOURSELF with a healthy body and mind.
LOVE OUR ENVIRONMENT by wearing fitness apparel with minimal environmental impact to preserve our planet.
LOVE THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU, but also to give back to others who were not given the same possibilities.
We aim to empower young people to help them to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams by contributing to Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) in Kenya. Through sports communities, slum cleanup, and education, MYSA strives to give young people in some of the largest and poorest slums in Africa, hope, and the opportunity for a better life.
Poijana uses post-consumer plastic bottles to create functional fitness apparel.
It is estimated that 8 million metric tons of plastic end up in the oceans every year. That is the equivalent to over 15 grocery bags of plastic trash for every meter of coastline around the globe. It takes two plastic bottles to create 2000 meters of yarn, and it takes 12 plastic bottles to create a pair of Poijana tights. With 1000 gym-goers and yogis we can reduce the amount of plastic with 12 000 pet bottles, that would otherwise end up in landfills. Or worse, the ocean.
